New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday (June 12) declined to issue urgent directions for reopening the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) revaluation portal, observing that the matter does not require immediate judicial intervention at this stage.

The court was hearing a petition seeking reopening of the portal over alleged discrepancies in students’ academic records.

Petition Flags Errors in Student Records

The petitioner had sought directions to reopen the CBSE portal to allow corrections in candidates’ details, along with a demand for an independent inquiry into alleged irregularities and discrepancies in the evaluation process.

It was argued that students could face difficulties during the admission process if errors in academic records were not rectified in time.

Government Opposes Urgent Relief

Opposing the plea, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said the petition was based on “general assumptions” and did not warrant immediate intervention.

He further argued that granting such relief at this stage could delay the admission process for nearly 17.8 lakh students awaiting entry into higher education institutions, as it may also impact the timely declaration and processing of results.

Court Allows Admissions Process to Continue

After hearing the submissions, the court refused to pass urgent directions, effectively allowing the ongoing admission cycle to proceed without interruption.
