Bengaluru: The list of Ministers in the Karnataka Cabinet seems to be a clear indication of the influence of former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, especially in the Mysuru region.

While the confidants of former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah - PM Narendraswamy and Chaluvaraswamy from Mandya district, KM Shivalingegowda from Hassan district and C Putta Rangashetty from Chamaraja Nagar district have been listed to join the ministry, his son MLC Yathindra, who joined the Cabinet in June along with DK Shiva Kumar, has no competition in Mysuru district.

Despite being a confidante of Siddaramaiah, former minister HC Mahadevappa and K Venkatesh have been denied a berth to protect Yathindra, while former minister and six-time MLA Tanveer Sait, who had identified himself with DK Shivakumar's camp, has been left out.

It may be noted that N Chaluvara Swamy and KM Shiva Linga Gowda were older associates of Siddaramaiah from his JD (S) days. However, both Narendraswamy and Puttarangashetty have been ardent followers of Siddaramaiah, despite being original Congress leaders.
