New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a major order, revoking its previous circular that prohibited weekly leave for crew members. According to the DGCA, the decision was prompted by increasing disruptions in airline operations, staff shortages, and flight cancellations.

Decision Taken Due to Operational Difficulties

The DGCA stated in its order that the previous circular had stipulated that “no leave will be granted in lieu of weekly rest.” However, considering suggestions received from various airlines and the need to ensure operational stability, the DGCA reviewed this provision. Officials clarified that this order is withdrawn with immediate effect.
