Digital India has completed 11 years, transforming the way millions access services, make payments and stay connected. With 103 crore internet connections and 66 crore daily UPI transactions, the initiative continues to reshape everyday life.

New Delhi: The Digital India has comp 11 years today , on July 1, 2026, touching a major milestone in India's digital transformation journey, which aims to shape how citizens connect, learn, transact, and access public services across the country.

The programme entails everything from internet access and mobile connectivity to initiates like E- Governance. Digital transformation of public services and UPI etc etc.Today there are 103 crore internet connections and 66 crore daily UPI transactions.

The government said that digital India. built around nine pillers, has helped bridge the digital divide by expanding internet access and bringing services online minimising long queues and paperwork. It is said to have strengthened digital governance for faster and transparent working ,democratised digital technologies, and has become the foundation of India's digital economy with initiatives like UPI.

It further said that digital platforms have expanded health care , education. skilling,agriculture. and welfare access. especially in rural and underserved regions. Infact ,Prime Minister Narendra Modi today posted on X , celebrating the occasion and highlighting the impact and influence of the programme.

Prime Minister said that the initiative has redifined governance, empowered citizens and accelerated all round development. It has touched every aspect of life. Every second digital transaction in the world takes place in India.

Further, more than 51 lakh crore transferred directly to bank accounts of beneficiaries through DBT. 42 lakh route km of optical fibre network across the country; and nearly 2.2 lakh villages connected.Over 2500 government services are now available on mobile phones.
