EC sends notice to Pawan Khera

The District Election Office of New Delhi has issued a notice to Pawan Khera for registering his name in the voter list of more than one constituency. This action has come after the BJP's allegations that Pawan Khera has registered his name in the voter list of two constituencies - Jangpura Assembly Constituency (East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency) and New Delhi Assembly Constituency (New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency).
Election Commission rejects vote theft claims; Says all Parties are equal, no discrimination
BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya called the matter a violation of the electoral law and demanded an investigation. He claimed that Pawan Khera has two different voter ID cards, in which the father's name is registered as 'HL Khera' on both. Malviya said that it is a matter of investigation for the Election Commission as to how Pawan Khera has two voter IDs and whether he voted more than once. He also attacked Rahul Gandhi and said that Rahul Gandhi is talking loudly about vote theft, but his mother Sonia Gandhi had registered her name in the voter list even before becoming an Indian citizen.
In this matter, Pawan Khera has denied the allegations of BJP. He said that Congress is also raising questions on the process and functioning of the Election Commission. Pawan Khera said that the allegations being made by Amit Malviya should also be asked from the Election Commission. He also said that he had completed the entire process of getting his name removed from the New Delhi assembly constituency in 2016, but the Election Commission should find out why his name is still in the voter list of that assembly. Pawan Khera has also demanded from the Election Commission that he be provided CCTV footage regarding his name in the voter list in the New Delhi assembly constituency.
