25 Deaths Caused Panic Across the Country

It is worth noting that 25 people tragically lost their lives in a devastating fire at the 'Birch by Romeo Lane' nightclub in Arpora. This incident shook the entire country. The extradition of the Luthra brothers to India is being seen as a major relief for the victim families. Investigating agencies say that the nightclub was operating without the necessary fire safety standards, which allowed the fire to spread rapidly.

Charges of Culpable Homicide and Negligence

Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra have been booked under sections related to culpable homicide not amounting to murder, negligence, and violation of safety regulations. The police allege that the club management ignored basic rules such as crowd control, fire safety clearance, and emergency exits, a lapse that cost people their lives.

Police to Take Them from Delhi to Goa

Officials had already clarified that the Goa Police would not go to Thailand but would take custody from central agencies in Delhi. A special team of Goa Police arrived in Delhi on Monday night for this purpose. After taking custody, the two accused are likely to be taken to Goa late at night. There, they will be held for questioning at the Anjuna police station. They are then expected to be produced before the Mapusa court on Wednesday.
