Dausa: Gurugram Police have arrested Kalyan Bainsla in Rajasthan’s Dausa in connection with the Golf Course Road crash involving woman biker Sia, after an attempt-to-murder charge was added to the case.
Bainsla was detained by a Gurugram Police team in Dausa on Tuesday and is being brought back to Gurugram for further investigation. The development comes a day after the case intensified following competing accounts of how the crash occurred.
Police traced Bainsla to Dausa, Rajasthan, where he was taken into custody as investigators stepped up efforts to locate him.
The arrest followed the addition of an attempt-to-murder charge to the case. Police are now expected to question Bainsla about the circumstances surrounding the collision and his movements after the incident.
The incident took place on Golf Course Road in Gurugram and involved a car allegedly driven by Bainsla and a woman biker identified as Sia.
Sia has alleged that the car followed her and deliberately struck her motorcycle after she asked the driver to maintain distance. The collision knocked her off the bike, while her motorcycle was dragged along the road.
Bainsla has denied deliberately hitting her. He has claimed that the collision was accidental and that he fled because he feared being attacked by other bikers at the spot. He has also disputed aspects of Sia’s account of the incident.
The police decision to invoke an attempt-to-murder charge marks a major escalation in the case.
Sia and her family had alleged that the incident was deliberate and had sought stronger action against Bainsla. Investigators are now examining the available evidence, including footage and statements, to determine what happened before and during the collision.
The charge reflects the direction of the police investigation and should not be treated as a judicial finding of guilt.
Following his arrest, Bainsla is being brought back to Gurugram, where police are expected to question him as part of the ongoing investigation.
The case has attracted widespread attention after footage of the crash circulated online. While Sia has alleged that she was deliberately targeted, Bainsla has maintained that the collision was not intentional.
The investigation will now focus on establishing the sequence of events and determining the circumstances surrounding the crash.
