High alert in Haryana due to heavy rains
Chandigarh: Due to continuous rains in Haryana, most of the rivers including Yamuna, Ghaggar, Markanda and Tangri are in spate. The Meteorological Department has warned of rain on Tuesday as well, due to which a high alert has been issued in the state.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in 18 districts, which include Yamunanagar, Ambala, Panchkula, Kurukshetra, Faridabad, Palwal, Gurugram, Nuh, Rewari, Mahendragarh, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Jind, Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri.
There is a yellow alert in Hisar, Fatehabad, Kaithal and Sirsa. More than 2.5 lakh acres of crops of 40 thousand farmers in the state have been affected due to waterlogging at many places. In view of the situation, the state government has directed all police and administrative officers to remain at the headquarters and keep a strict vigil till September 5.
Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi on Monday, in written orders to all divisional commissioners, Inspector Generals of Police, Additional Director Generals of Police, Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and SDMs, has expressed apprehension of floods at various places, mentioning the warning of the Meteorological Department.
In such a situation, no officer should be allowed leave without the approval of the Chief Secretary or Home Secretary. At the same time, Panchayat Secretaries and Patwaris have been asked to remain alert 24 hours in waterlogged areas. They will have to send their reports to the district headquarters regularly.
Along with this, keeping in mind the safety of the building, the heads of all private and government schools have been instructed to regularly check the roofs, cleaning of rooms and electrical fittings, and warned that if any accident occurs, it will be their responsibility. Even if schools have to be closed somewhere, the teaching and non-teaching staff will remain on duty.
Chief Minister is constantly taking updates
Media Secretary of Chief Minister Naib Saini, Praveen Atre, said that the situation in the state is completely under control. Flood situation has not arisen in any district yet. People are being helped by setting up control rooms in all the districts.
On Monday, Deputy Commissioners, SDMs of flood-prone districts Ambala, Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Sirsa, Fatehabad and Hisar along with the officials of the Irrigation and Local Bodies Department remained in the field the whole day. Officials of the Chief Minister's Office are constantly in touch with the officials in the districts and are taking reports and informing the Chief Minister.
INLD will help the flood victims of Punjab
National President of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) Abhay Singh Chautala said that party workers have been delivering ration, water and other goods to the flood-affected areas of Punjab for the last several days. The party will help all the victims including farmers, workers, tenants of Punjab in every way.
Fodder will be sent in trucks and tractors for animals in Punjab. Many types of diseases spread after floods. Keeping this in mind, arrangements for party volunteers, doctors and medicines will also be made.
