New Delhi: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved a bailout amount of about $1 billion to Pakistan. This information was given from the office of Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

It was told that the IMF has approved this amount on Friday, May 9, 2025 under the existing Extended Fund Facility (EFF), which Pakistan will get immediately.

In a statement issued from the PM Office, it was said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over this funding received from the IMF and said that getting this help to Pakistan by bypassing India's objections is an important success.

He says that Pakistan's economic condition is now getting better than before and the country is on the path of progress.

India has expressed displeasure over this decision of the IMF. India clearly said that this funding being given to Pakistan can be used to promote cross-border terrorism. This was the reason why India kept away from voting in this important meeting of the IMF.

However, Pakistan got support in the voting and the IMF gave it a loan. In a statement issued by the Finance Ministry of India, it was said that Pakistan's track record has not been good and giving money to it is against international values.

India warned that such decisions send a dangerous message to the whole world. It said that repeatedly giving financial aid to countries supporting terrorism damages the credibility of financial agencies and donor countries and also disregards international rules and principles.
