New Delhi: Amid rising geopolitical tensions impacting global energy routes, the Government of India has reassured citizens that fuel supplies across the country remain stable and uninterrupted. Authorities confirmed that domestic LPG, PNG, and CNG distribution is continuing at full capacity, with no disruption reported in household deliveries.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas emphasized that LPG cylinder supply is operating smoothly, with millions of deliveries being fulfilled daily. Citizens have been advised not to engage in panic buying or hoarding of petrol, diesel, or cooking gas, as sufficient stocks are being maintained nationwide.

Officials also highlighted a gradual shift in consumer preference, noting that thousands of households are transitioning from LPG to piped natural gas. At the same time, demand for auto LPG has seen a noticeable increase in recent weeks.

On the international front, India is closely monitoring developments in the Middle East, particularly around the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. Authorities confirmed that Indian vessels continue to operate safely in the region, although isolated security incidents have been reported. All Indian crew members remain safe, and maritime movements are being tracked carefully.

The government stated that domestic refineries are functioning at strong capacity, ensuring adequate availability of petrol and diesel at retail outlets across the country. To shield consumers from rising global crude prices, excise duties on fuel have been reduced.

Additionally, enforcement agencies have intensified action against black marketing and hoarding, conducting thousands of inspections nationwide to safeguard fair distribution.

Officials reiterated that coordinated efforts between central and state authorities, along with industry stakeholders, are ongoing to maintain energy security and ensure uninterrupted fuel access despite global uncertainties.
