New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has given a clear message: "Those who carried out this cowardly attack or conspired behind the scenes will not be spared." This is the clear policy of the Central Government. Our zero tolerance strategy against terrorism remains unwavering.

He further said, "I assure the countrymen, in view of this incident, the Government of India will take every step that is necessary and appropriate. We will not only reach out to those who have carried out this incident, but will also reach out to those who have conspired to commit such nefarious acts on the soil of India by sitting behind the scenes."

"India is an old civilization and a vast country, which cannot be intimidated by any terrorist activity. Those responsible for such acts will be given a strong reply in the times to come. I assure the countrymen once again."

Home Minister Amit Shah visited the site of the incident, met the victim families, and assured that the Government is with them. The search operation by security forces is ongoing, and further action will be discussed in the CCS meeting in the evening, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Terrorists spread panic by firing on tourists in Bai Saran area near Pahalgam, a major tourist destination in the Kashmir Valley. Many people have been injured in the incident, who have been immediately admitted to the local hospital in Pahalgam. There have been 28 fatalities.

According to the information received from intelligence sources, the terrorists had planned the attack like the 26/11 Mumbai attack, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Their primary target was tourists, as they wanted to affect tourism in Jammu and Kashmir by targeting tourists.

The initial assessment by central agencies reveals that the attack occurred in a location with many tourists present, and security agencies were unaware of it.
