Noida: The Noida International Airport, being built in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar, is now moving towards the inauguration of its first phase. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the airport on 30 October. The airport will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including solar power, an automated tray retrieval system (ATRS), and jet bridges.
A key feature of this airport is its Ground Transportation Center (GTC), which is being built on 20 acres of land. It will house all transportation services, including buses, metro, cars, taxis, and the Namo Bharat Train, all under one roof.
The GTC will also have parking and charging facilities for over 1,200 vehicles. The first phase is 80% complete and will be operational by the time the airport opens.

The airport is being connected to Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Haryana Roadways. Bus services from these states will be operational as soon as the airport opens. Taxi services like Rapido, Uber, and Mahindra will also be available to passengers, allowing direct travel to cities like Kurukshetra, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Faridabad, Haldwani, and Hisar.
Noida International Airport will be equipped with a 3.9-kilometer-long runway, 10 active jet bridges, and a fire tower with a 180-degree surveillance system. ATRS technology will also ensure faster baggage checkout.

The airport is being developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model by the Uttar Pradesh government and a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG. Once operational, the airport will complement Delhi's IGI Airport, serving 12 million passengers annually.
Noida International Airport is poised to become not only North India's but also the nation's most modern and convenient airport. Its Ground Transportation Center will make passenger travel smooth, accessible, and convenient.
