Soldiers on alert mode amid fears of infiltration

BSF Kashmir Frontier Inspector General Ashok Yadav said on Tuesday that Pakistan is continuously trying to infiltrate terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir. The activities of terrorists are increasing on the launching pads across the LoC in North Kashmir, but the BSF has foiled every attempt of infiltration in coordination with other security agencies.

Talking to reporters after flagging off a 79-km long cycle rally organised to mark Independence Day in Bandipore, he said the BSF and the Army are working under a joint strategy to prevent infiltration.

'Working in collaboration with the Army'

We work in collaboration with the Army and coordinate our efforts to foil any infiltration attempt. For this purpose, joint operations are being conducted regularly. Regarding Pakistan's activities, the BSF Kashmir IG reiterated that the neighbouring country continues to make efforts to send terrorists.

History

India had claimed to kill more than 100 terrorists and attacked 9 terror camps in Pakistan. It was also discussed in the international forum that India might have also attacked the Pakistani nuclear facility in Kirana Hills, which had compelled the US to intervene.

However, the Indian government had denied any international intervention for breaking a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Even the Air Marshal, AK Bharti, of the intrepid Indian Army on May 12 categorically denied reports that the Indian Air Force struck the Kirana Hills in Pakistan's Punjab province.

In the last few months, Pakistani leaders have made objectionable statements against India. Pakistani Army Chief General Asim Munir had threatened India with a nuclear attack. He had said that if Pakistan faces an existential threat in a war with India, they will "destroy half the world."

India denied these threats and said that Pakistan has always been resorting to nuclear blackmail. India has made it clear that it will not be afraid of such threats and will take every necessary step for its security.
