Manipur: Security forces destroy 54 acres of poppy cultivation in Kangpokpi

Imphal: A joint team of central and state forces destroyed 54 acres of fully grown opium plants in Kangpokpi district under a new campaign against the cultivation of narcotic plants in Manipur. It is estimated ₹2.1 lakh worth said an official.

The official further said on Tuesday that a total of 16 farm huts and a large number of bags of chemical fertilizer were also destroyed in the fire that broke out on Monday.

Poppy cultivation was located between Khoiripok and Sehjang villages in Kangpokpi district.
