Mumbai: After five days of fast at Azad Maidan in Mumbai, Maratha reservation movement leader Manoj Jarange Patil has announced the end of the movement. He said that today is a Diwali like day for us because the government has accepted most of our demands. Manoj Jarange broke the fast emotionally and victory slogans echoed among the supporters.
The head of the cabinet sub-committee of the state government, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, thanked Jarange and said that the government is committed to providing justice to the Maratha community. The sub-committee has agreed to implement the Hyderabad Gazette and give Kunbi certificate to those Marathas who have its record. After this, the government assured to implement this decision through a government order (GR).

Also, he informed that the families of those who lost their lives during the agitation will be compensated and the cases registered against the agitators will be withdrawn.
Maharashtra Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said on this occasion that the current government has done historic work for the Maratha community and has taken more concrete steps than the previous governments.

The hearing of this case in the Bombay High Court has been postponed till Wednesday. The court warned the government that the information about the size of the crowd and the law and order situation during the agitation was not given on time. Also, the court directed Jarange and his supporters to maintain peace and not obstruct traffic.
After this successful completion of the Maratha movement, the atmosphere has become festive and the supporters are dancing with joy. Now the responsibility has increased on the government to fulfill its promises and provide justice to the Maratha community.
