New Delhi: Famous model and social media star San Rachel committed suicide on Sunday. 26-year-old San was known for her strong voice against racism in the entertainment world. She was recently married.

She died during treatment at JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research) in Puducherry. Earlier she was taken to two other hospitals. Her death has created a stir across the country. She was a resident of Puducherry.

According to the police, San had swallowed a large amount of pills at her father's house. She was immediately taken to a government hospital, then admitted to a private hospital, but when her condition worsened, she was shifted to JIPMER, where she breathed her last.

Why did she commit suicide?

Police investigation has revealed that San was struggling with heavy financial stress and personal pressure. She had sold and mortgaged her jewellery in recent months for her professional pursuits. According to sources, San expected financial help from her father, but the father expressed his inability citing his son's responsibilities.

The police also found a suicide note, in which San wrote that no one should be held responsible for her death. Nevertheless, in view of her recent marriage, a tehsildar-level inquiry has been ordered to find out if marital problems affected her mental state.

San was a loud voice against racism
