New Delhi: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has received an overwhelming response from bidders for the construction of the 111-km, six-lane Access Controlled Greenfield Capital Region Ring Road (Bhubaneswar Bypass) in Odisha.
Bids were invited for the project in three packages, all of which witnessed robust participation, underscoring strong industry confidence.
Package-I attracted 23 bids, Package-II received 25 bids, and Package-III drew 16 bids.
The contracts are expected to be awarded by March 2026, with construction scheduled to commence shortly thereafter. The project is targeted for completion within 2.5 years from the date of award.
Approved by the Union Cabinet, the project will be implemented under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) at an estimated capital cost of Rs8,307.74 crore.
The Ring Road will stretch from Rameshwar to Tangi and is being developed in three packages. Nearly 96 percent of land acquisition has been completed, along with statutory forest, wildlife, and environmental clearances.
Once operational, the Capital Region Ring Road (Bhubaneswar Bypass) is expected to significantly improve regional connectivity by decongesting traffic in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Khordha.
The access-controlled corridor will enhance mobility, reduce logistics costs, generate substantial employment opportunities, and contribute to safer, faster, and more sustainable transportation, supporting long-term economic growth in the region.
