New Delhi: After successful Operation Sindoor, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday took stock of latest security situation on the Western Border with top defence officials.

The meeting was attended by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Vice Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari.

Notably, on Tuesday, the DGMOs of India and Pakistan held talks and agreed to take steps towards immediate reduction of troops on the borders and forward areas and desist from firing shots.

The Indian Armed Forces on May 7 launched Operation Sindoor hitting nine infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The operation came following the killing of 26 tourists by terrorists in Pahalgam.

Over 100 Terrorists Killed

Over 100 terrorists were killed in nine terror targets during Operation Sindoor, Indian military said in a press briefing, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Director General of Military Operations Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai said on Sunday that Nine terror targets were identified after careful deliberation under Operation Sindoor. More than 100 terrorists killed in nine terror targets on early May 7 operation. The briefing was led by Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Air Marshal AK Bharti, Vice Admiral AN Pramod and Major General SS Sharda.

Director General of Military Operations Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai said that nine terrorist hideouts were identified after careful deliberation under Operation Sindoor. More than 100 terrorists were killed at nine terrorist hideouts during the operation on the morning of May 7. Lieutenant General Ghai said, "Pakistan lost 35-40 personnel in the firing of the Indian Army on the Line of Control."

He said that high value targets like Yusuf Azhar, Abdul Malik Rauf and Mudasir Ahmed were also killed in the attacks. On the first night when Pakistan launched drone attacks, India's air defence system intercepted most of them and also retaliated in which a radar installation in Lahore, Pakistan was destroyed.

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 to strike several terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir after the deadly attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir last month.
