‘Rahul Gandhi should resign’; Former Congress Leader criticised him over impeachment against CEC

New Delhi: In the midst of the controversy surrounding the SIR and suspected vote theft in Bihar, the opposition is preparing to file a motion to remove the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC). However, Rahul Gandhi has come under heavy fire from a former Congress leader, Acharya Pramod Krishnam for what he claims is a plot against constitutional institutions.

Rahul Gandhi was charged by Acharya Pramod with attempting to damage the standing of significant constitutional courts including the Supreme Court, Parliament and the Election Commission. He claimed this is a plot to denigrate the nation. Rahul Gandhi is being asked questions about respecting constitutional institutions like the Supreme Court and Parliament will be extremely difficult as long as Rahul Gandhi is the Leader of the Opposition Acharya Pramod stated.

Acharya Pramod said, "As long as Rahul Gandhi remains the Leader of the Opposition, it will be very difficult to respect constitutional institutions like the Supreme Court and Parliament. He is plotting to bring the country down."

Urge Rahul Gandhi to step down

Rahul Gandhi should step down from his position before filing an impeachment motion against the Chief Election Commissioner, Acharya Pramod said in response to Rahul Gandhi's accusations against the Election Commission. All opposition leaders should resign.

About The Matter

By accusing the Election Commission of misconduct pertaining to the SIR and purported vote theft in Bihar, Rahul Gandhi has created a front against the body. In an effort to bring attention to these problems he has also launched a Vote Rights Yatra in Bihar. Unhappy with Rahul Gandhi's charges the Election Commission has given him seven days to submit an affidavit with supporting documentation.

In response Gyanesh Kumar the Chief Election Commissioner is the target of an impeachment motion that the opposition is seriously considering. The growing disagreement between the opposition and the Election Commission over matters pertaining to the Bihar election is exemplified by this political tension.
