Kota: A minor girl preparing for NEET exam in Kota has committed suicide. The girl hanged herself a night before the NEET exam, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Police is gathering information to find out the reasons for the suicide. As per the primary information the student was from Madhya Pradesh. The girl committed suicide in Parshwanath Puram of Kunhadi police station area of Kota.
Refusing to reveal the name of the student, Kunhadi police station circle inspector Arvind Bhardwaj said that the girl is under 18 years of age and hails from Sheopur in Madhya Pradesh.
She was living with her parents in Kota for the last several years and was preparing for NEET-UG in a coaching institute.
The body of the student was found hanging from a dupatta in her room. The police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. The family members have been questioned.
When the student committed suicide, her family was present at home at that time. The student was going to appear for the NEET exam on May 4.
This is the 14th case of this year in Kota. In the month of April itself, cases of suicide of four students were reported.
The suicide of a student from Madhya Pradesh is the first case of the month of May.

Kota: A 16-year-old medical aspirant hanged himself from a ceiling fan in his hostel room in Kota, just 20 days after joining a coaching centre here to prepare for NEET, police said on Tuesday.
This is the 13th case of suspected suicide by a coaching student in the country’s coaching hub since January and the third in April alone.
A native of Bihar’s Katihar, Tameem Iqbal was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his hostel room in Talwandi area on Monday evening, the police said.
According to police, the student arrived in Kota only 20 days ago.
“He was staying in a hostel in the Jawahar Nagar area and was preparing for the NEET at a prominent coaching centre of the city. However, on Tuesday wee hours, he died by suicide in his hostel,” said Ram Laxman, station house officer (SHO) of Jawahar Nagar police station.
The officer added that the incident came to light when he did not respond to several knocks on his door by the hostel staff.
