New Delhi: The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said on Thursday that the initial health check-up of Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, who returned from space, has found his health to be absolutely fine and there is no cause for concern at the moment, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Shubhanshu Shukla returned to Earth on 15 June. He went on a 20-day space trip under the American private mission Axiom-4. He and three other astronauts - Peggy Whitson, Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski and Tibor Kapu were aboard a spacecraft named 'Dragon Grace', which landed safely in the sea in California.

Health Check-up Done

Immediately after exiting the spacecraft, an initial health check-up of all the astronauts was done on a ship. After this, they were taken to the Axiom Space Company by helicopter, where further in-depth check-up and conversation was done.

Shubhanshu Shukla was then taken to Houston, USA, where he was included in a week-long special health rehabilitation program. The aim of this program is to reduce the impact on the body due to the time spent in space.

Doctors In Axiom Company Taking Care

ISRO said that this program is being conducted under the supervision of doctors of Axiom Company and doctors of ISRO are also participating in it. In this rehabilitation program, especially heart checkup, muscle and bone strength checkup and mental condition review are done. Along with this, physical and mental health is being constantly monitored so that he can return to normal life easily.

Shubhanshu Did Several Experiments In ISS

In this 20-day space journey, Shubhanshu Shukla spent 18 days on the International Space Station (ISS). During this time, he did many microgravity experiments designed by ISRO and NASA. During the entire mission, the astronauts orbited the Earth 320 times and covered a total distance of more than 1.35 crore kilometers. ISRO said that Shubhanshu Shukla's condition is continuously improving and he will soon return to normal life.

Proud Moment For India

Scientists and experts associated with space research called this mission a symbol of India's scientific talent and global contribution. On behalf of the Government of India, the Prime Minister and the Science Minister also congratulated Shubhanshu Shukla and said that "Young scientists like Shubhanshu have brought India to a leading role on the world's space map. This is an inspiration for every youth."
