First rail to reach Aizawl
Aizawl: For the first time the train will touch Mizoram connecting its Capital Aizawl to the whole country. However initially it will connect Aizawl to Silchar in Assam. Then from there it will connect with the whole country, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

This new railway line will connect Mizoram with the rest of the country in a better and smoother way and will give a new direction and boost to tourism along with trade in the Northeast region.
Chief Minister Lalduhoma said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this Bairabi Sairang railway line next month on 13 September.

Chief Minister said that Sairang Railway Station will be developed as a world class facility center. Soon after Rajdhani Express service will also be started from this railway station. This rail project is a part of the Center's Act East Policy and its purpose is to promote better connectivity and economic development in the northeastern states.

According to Northern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Captain Kishore Sharma, this railway line will pass through 48 tunnels and over 142 bridges, making it one of the most challenging and complex railway projects in the Northeast region. Successful trial runs of this line have also been completed, clearing the way for operation for the public.
Sharma said, "This project is not just a railway line, but it is an important milestone in engineering." He particularly mentioned bridge number 196, which with a height of 114 meters, is the second highest piers bridge in India and 42 meters higher than the Qutub Minar. It is a great example of modern engineering.
