New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025, one of the toughest competitive exams in the country.
With the declaration of the results, 958 candidates have been recommended for appointment to various civil services, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Forest Service (IFoS).

Among the top achievers this year is Raghav Jhunjhunwala, who secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) 4. Hailing from Muzaffarpur in Bihar, Raghav has emerged as one of the top candidates in the country, bringing pride to his family and his home state.
958 Candidates Recommended for Services
According to the UPSC notification, a total of 958 candidates have been selected through the examination. The list includes 317 candidates from the General category, 104 from EWS, 306 from OBC, 158 from SC, and 73 from ST categories.
Examination Timeline
The UPSC CSE 2025 Preliminary Examination was conducted on May 25, 2025, followed by the Mains examination from August 22 to August 31, 2025. The Personality Test (Interview) for shortlisted candidates concluded on February 27, 2026.
Changes in Cadre Allocation Policy
Meanwhile, the Government of India has introduced a new Cadre Allocation Policy 2026, replacing the “zone system” that had been in place since 2017. Under the new policy, cadre allocation will now follow a cycle system. The policy will apply to officers selected for the IAS, IPS and IFoS.
