Dehradun: The mood of the weather has deteriorated once again in the mountainous areas of Uttarakhand. Heavy rains in many districts of the state since last night have disrupted normal life.

Due to rain, 87 roads are reported to be closed across the state, while incidents of debris falling and landslides have been reported at many places, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Yellow Alert

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for the next 24 hours in Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Nainital and Bageshwar districts. Under this, a warning has been given of heavy rain, sudden waterlogging, landslides in the mountains and traffic disruption. Light to moderate rain is expected in other districts.

According to the information received from the State Emergency Operations Center, due to debris coming in many places due to rain, traffic on the roads has come to a standstill. The situation is very bad in many districts. According to the report, the state government has given instructions to the concerned departments to open a number of routes at many places;

Many Schools, Anganwadis Closed

Yellow alert for heavy rain in hilly districts. Schools and Anganwadi centres closed. In view of the possibility of heavy rain in Dehradun district, the district administration has issued an order to keep all schools and Anganwadi centres closed on July 10.

This order will be applicable to all government and private schools from class 1 to 12. Parents have been appealed not to let children go out of the house.

People To Be Alert

The administration and disaster management department have appealed to the public to avoid going to the banks of rivers and landslide prone areas. Also, do not travel unnecessarily and keep an eye on the updates issued by the Meteorological Department.

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been put on alert mode and patrolling has been increased in sensitive areas. The local administration has been instructed to be prepared for relief work.

Forecast

The Meteorological Center has predicted that the weather in the mountainous areas will remain unstable for the next two to three days. Especially in many parts of Kumaon and Garhwal divisions, incidents of lightning may also occur along with heavy rains.

Officials have said that stock up on essential items and if you are planning a mountain trip, first get information about the condition of the route from the local administration.
