New Delhi: This time the monsoon is quite unpredictable, creating havoc leading to cloudburst and landslides at hills but playing hide and seek at some places with scanty rains, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

The indifference of monsoon in Delhi-NCR has troubled the people with humidity and heat. July has started, but till now the monsoon rain has not shown the enthusiasm which is expected every year. Light drizzle in some areas gave some relief from the heat, but Delhiites are still waiting for heavy rain.
According to IMD, the weather is changing due to the effect of western disturbance. There are signs of rain in Delhi-NCR from the evening of July 5 and there is a possibility of good showers on July 6. The effect of heavy rains in Punjab and Haryana will also be seen on Delhi.
Monsoon has started showing its fierce form in Uttar Pradesh. According to Lucknow Meteorological Center, many areas of western UP may receive heavy rains with thunderstorms today. There is also a warning of heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and storms in eastern UP. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in western UP on July 6, which may continue till July 9.
The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to be cautious, fearing lightning. Orange alert has been issued especially in districts like Agra, Kanpur, Jhansi, Aligarh and Hamirpur.
IMD has issued a warning regarding heavy rains in many states. There is a red alert in Kutch, Banaskantha, and Patan in Gujarat, where heavy rains are likely with strong winds (40 km/hr). There is an orange alert in Shivpuri, Chhatarpur and Rewa in Madhya Pradesh with a risk of lightning. Heavy rains are also expected in coastal areas like Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg in Maharashtra. Heavy to very heavy rain warnings have also been issued in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha.
The Meteorological Department has advised people to stay away from rivers and streams and low-lying areas. Do not stay in open fields and under trees due to the possibility of lightning. Be careful in this monsoon fun and enjoy this colorful mood of the weather, but with full preparation.
Over 40 people have died in Himachal Pradesh during the last two weeks after the monsoon wreaked havoc in the state. Heavy rains and thunderstorms caused cloudbursts followed by flash floods and landslides in the state. Besides about 40 people are missing due to rain-related incidents.

The Weather office has issued a “red” alert for very heavy to extremely heavy rains at some places in Kangra, Sirmaur and Mandi. At the same time an “orange” alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rains at isolated places over Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba, Solan, Shimla and Kullu districts for the weekend.
