Fresh Western Disturbance to Impact North India
New Delhi: The weather across India is changing rapidly these days. While some regions are witnessing heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, others are beginning to experience rising temperatures. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a specific alert for heavy rainfall and strong winds, particularly for North and Central India. Meanwhile, temperatures are gradually climbing in South and West India.
The weather in several parts of North India appears to have changed abruptly. Strong winds, gusting at speeds of 60 to 75 kilometers per hour, are expected. Additionally, there is a possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and rain. Fresh snowfall may also occur in the hilly regions, leading to a drop in temperatures. Furthermore, Northwest India could witness a decline in temperatures ranging from 2 to 4 degrees Celsius.
In Delhi and its surrounding areas, the skies are expected to remain overcast. Intermittent light rain and drizzle are possible. The strong winds will provide relief from the heat. Air quality currently remains at a moderate level. Light rainfall may persist over the coming days due to the influence of a western disturbance.
Warnings have been issued for several areas in Haryana regarding dust storms, strong winds, and lightning strikes. Some locations may also experience light rainfall. Wind speeds could reach up to 60 to 80 kilometers per hour, necessitating caution among residents.
The weather in Rajasthan is currently expected to remain mostly dry, although dust storms may occur in isolated pockets. Between April 3 and 5, a new western disturbance is likely to become active, potentially triggering a fresh spell of rain and storms across the state.
The weather scenario in Tamil Nadu and the southern states presents a different picture. There is a possibility of light rainfall here, particularly in the coastal regions. However, alongside this, temperatures are steadily rising. Over the coming days, temperatures could climb by up to 3 degrees Celsius, intensifying the sensation of heat.
Overall, the weather patterns across the country have undergone a complete shift. While North India is experiencing rain and cooler temperatures, the heat is intensifying in the South. Consequently, people need to exercise caution appropriate to the prevailing weather conditions.
