Assemblt Election Result
Election Results 2026 LIVE: After the assembly elections held in four states and UT-including West Bengal and Assam—the day of reckoning has finally arrived. With the exception of the Falta seat in Bengal, the results for all other seats will be declared today. The counting of votes is scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM. Postal ballots will be counted first, followed by the opening of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Given the prevailing sensitive atmosphere in West Bengal, stringent security arrangements have been put in place at the vote-counting centers. This time, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry also witnessed a heavy voter turnout. For Bengal's 293 assembly seats, votes will be counted at 77 designated centers. Even before the counting has begun, both the TMC and the BJP have leveled allegations against each other regarding the manipulation of results.
The BJP-led NDA is optimistic about forming the government in Assam for the third consecutive term. The EVMs—which hold the electoral fate of the 722 candidates contesting across the state's 126 assembly seats—will be opened at 40 counting centers spread across 35 districts. Polling in the state took place on April 9, recording a voter turnout of 85.96 percent.
