CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke Reacts To Join NDA Offer (Img: X)
New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has responded to Union Minister Ramdas Athawale’s offer to join the Republican Party of India (A), a constituent of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Reacting to the invitation, Dipke shared a report about Athawale’s remarks on Instagram and questioned the earlier criticism directed at him and his movement. “Abhi ek mahine pehle toh me anti-national tha tumhare liye?” (Just a month ago, wasn’t I anti-national for you?) Dipke wrote in his post.
Earlier, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale suggested that Abhijeet Dipke should consider joining the Republican Party of India (A). Athawale said Dipke, whom he described as an Ambedkarite and a young activist, could help strengthen the party and work towards fulfilling Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s vision.
“I think Abhijeet Dipke is an Ambedkarite. He is active and young. He should consider joining Republican Party of India (A),” Athawale said.
He added that the government believes in taking action against wrongdoing and said Dipke could become part of the ruling alliance.
The exchange comes weeks after protests led by students and CJP at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over issues related to exam paper leaks, student concerns and education reforms.
During the protests, political tensions intensified after some leaders accused certain groups of being influenced by “anti-national forces”. Former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had also referred to such elements while announcing his resignation.
Dipke had earlier criticised the use of the “anti-national” label against protesting students. He supported RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s remarks that members of Gen Z should not be branded anti-national for raising genuine concerns through protests.
Dipke had alleged that some BJP leaders used strong language against student protesters, claiming that terms like “anti-national” were being used against young people raising questions about education-related issues.
He had said that protests are part of democracy and that students’ concerns should be addressed rather than dismissed.
The latest exchange between Athawale and Dipke has triggered discussions over whether the CJP founder could enter mainstream politics or maintain his independent political position.
