New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a new list of state in-charges and co-in-charges as part of its organisational preparations ahead of upcoming assembly elections. The party has assigned responsibilities to several senior leaders in key states, including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Punjab and Maharashtra.
The newly appointed leaders will coordinate with state units, strengthen organisational activities and oversee election-related preparations.
For Uttar Pradesh, where the assembly elections are scheduled in 2027, the BJP has appointed Vinod Tawde as the state in-charge.

Tawde will be supported by Jagdish Patel, Medha Kulkarni, Dr Pradeep Verma and Anant Ojha, who have been named co-in-charges for the state.
The new team will be responsible for coordinating with party workers, monitoring organisational activities and preparing the groundwork for the upcoming electoral battle.
Former Union minister Smriti Irani has been assigned the responsibility of Haryana and Chhattisgarh.
The appointment comes as the BJP focuses on strengthening its organisational structure and improving coordination in states with major political significance.
Senior BJP leader Sunil Bansal has also been given important responsibilities in the party’s new organisational setup.
Bansal has earlier handled significant organisational assignments and has been associated with election management and booth-level planning for the party.
In Punjab, the BJP has appointed Dr Satish Poonia as the state in-charge, while Alka Gurjar has been named co-in-charge.
The party is working to expand its organisational presence in Punjab and prepare its structure ahead of future electoral challenges.
In Maharashtra, Baijayant Jay Panda has been appointed as the state in-charge. He will be assisted by Amit Malviya, Sadanand Shet Tanavade and Kamaljeet Sehrawat as co-in-charges.
For Bihar, the BJP has appointed Harish Dwivedi as the state in-charge, with Sangeeta Yadav and Rohan Gupta as co-in-charges.
The latest appointments reflect the BJP’s focus on strengthening its organisation ahead of upcoming elections. The newly appointed in-charges are expected to work closely with state leadership and party workers to streamline campaign planning and organisational activities.
