New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will spearhead a series of large-scale student conventions across the country beginning in Kota on June 17, as the Congress intensifies its campaign against alleged examination scandals and issues affecting the youth.
The initiative aims to bring together students, job aspirants, educators, youth organisations, and those impacted by recurring examination irregularities and paper leak controversies.
According to Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal, the nationwide campaign will kick off in Kota on June 17, followed by conventions in Allahabad on July 10, Patna on July 11, and Delhi on July 14.
"Rahul Gandhi will conduct a series of large student conventions bringing together students, aspirants, youth organisations, educators, and all those directly affected by examination scandals," Venugopal said.
The Congress has planned an extensive outreach programme through the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), Youth Congress, Pradesh Congress Committees (PCCs), District Congress Committees (DCCs), and local party units.
The campaign will include physical and digital invitations, campus outreach drives, interactions at coaching centres, universities and schools, social media initiatives, live screenings, and direct engagement with students across the country.
The movement seeks to highlight concerns over repeated examination failures, paper leak incidents, and challenges faced by job seekers and students. Congress leaders said the campaign would provide a platform for affected youth to share their experiences and demand accountability.
According to Venugopal, the initiative reflects Rahul Gandhi's belief that the aspirations of young Indians should not be undermined by corruption, incompetence, or political indifference.
The Congress plans to raise several demands that Rahul Gandhi has previously advocated, including:
Party leaders stated that the movement aims to unite students beyond political affiliations and build a collective voice for education reforms and transparency in recruitment and examination processes.
The campaign is expected to become a major outreach effort by the Congress ahead of upcoming political and policy debates concerning youth employment and education reforms.
