

The ninth form of Maa Durga is called Siddhidatri. He has eight types of achievements – Anima, Mahima, Garima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakamya, Ishitva and Vashitva. According to the legend, Lord Shiva attained these eight Siddhis by doing rigorous penance of Mother Siddhidatri.

According to mythology, demons, devils, gods, sages, and eunuchs all attain Siddhis through her worship. Siddhidatri's seat is a lotus, and she has four arms, holding a mace, a discus, a lotus, and a conch.

According to the legend, Lord Shiva attained these eight Siddhis by doing rigorous penance of Mother Siddhidatri. By this grace, half of Lord Shiva's body became that of a goddess and he was called Ardhanarishwar.
The story describes that when all the gods were troubled by the atrocities of the demon Mahishasura, they prayed to Lord Shiva and Vishnu. Maa Siddhidatri appeared from the divine light emanating from there.

It is believed that Maa Siddhidatri is also a form of Goddess Saraswati, and through her grace, every devotee's wishes are fulfilled.
The last day of Shardiya Navratri concludes with the worship of Mother Siddhidatri. Through the ritualistic worship, chanting of mantras, and offering of food on this day, devotees can achieve the fulfillment of their desires.
