The incident reportedly occurred around 10 pm on Sunday on a busy stretch between BTM Layout and Jayadeva Junction.
Police identified the individuals as Dhanush (30), Apoorva alias Prapurna (30), and Avinash (37), all medical professionals who had recently completed their MS in Orthopaedics.
According to officials, the three had gathered at a bar to celebrate and later left the premises together. During the ride, one of them carried a partially consumed beer bottle, which was visible in the viral clip.
Acting on the video evidence, the Bengaluru Traffic Police registered an FIR for rash and negligent riding, endangering public safety, and other related offences.
Using the vehicle registration details, police traced the owner and summoned all three individuals. They reportedly admitted to their actions during questioning.
The incident comes amid a broader crackdown on traffic violations in the city. In a recent week-long enforcement drive, authorities inspected over 45,000 vehicles and booked hundreds of cases related to drunk driving and over-speeding.
Officials say such measures aim to improve road safety and deter reckless behaviour on city roads.
The viral video sparked outrage among citizens, with many raising concerns about road safety and responsible conduct, especially by professionals.
Authorities have reiterated the importance of following traffic rules, warning that strict action will be taken against violators.
