Bathing in the Ganges during these days is considered especially significant.
Many people are unable to travel to Prayagraj for a holy dip due to job, health, or family reasons. According to religious belief, if devotees bathe at home with a pure heart, mixing Ganga water with water, and remembering Mother Ganga, they receive the same merits as bathing in the Ganges. This practice is also practiced on occasions like Ganga Dussehra, Purnima, and Amavasya.
To bathe with Ganga water at home, fill a bucket with clean water and add a few drops of Ganga water to it. Before bathing, calm your mind and meditate on Mother Ganga. Bathe with this water and do not use soap or shampoo during the bath. Chanting the mantra "Har Har Gange" during the bath is considered auspicious.

Remember not to pour the used water down the drain. Pour it into a plant or flower bed. It is believed that this purifies the environment and upholds religious values.
According to religious scholars, the true benefits of bathing in the Ganges are linked to devotion and emotion. If the mind is pure and the rituals are followed, bathing at home is considered as fruitful as bathing at the Magh Mela.
