New Delhi: Indian cricket team's legendary leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has made headlines in recent times because of the crisis in his personal life instead of his performance at the ground.

Following his break-up with Dhanashree Verma, the World Cup-winning bowler began to receive accusations of infidelity on social media. Punjab Kings IPL player Chahal confessed that these accusations bothered him so much that even he considered taking his own life.

Chahal also explained that the allegations of cheating did not just impact his mental well-being but also deprived him of sleep. He became so stressed and emotionally drained that he even thought about taking a break from cricket for a while.

He told, "This was the toughest period of my life. I used to think suicidal. I was fed up with my life. I used to weep and would sleep only for 2 hours. This continued for 40-45 days. I wished to take some time off from cricket but was so involved with cricket that I could not focus. I used to tell my suicidal thoughts to my friend and got terrified."

Chahal also blamed certain media individuals of giving him false news so that traffic could be boosted and sensation could be generated. He made it clear that the charges of cheating are totally unfounded and against his principles.

He told, "When I divorced, others used to call me a cheater. I have never cheated anyone. I am not like that. No one will be loyal than me. I always give decisions from my heart for my near ones. I do not ask, but offer. People level allegations without knowing anything, because of which you begin thinking in the wrong way."

Chahal said that being raised with two sisters, he was taught to respect women. His parents always taught him that women should be respected. He said, "I have learned life lessons from the people around me. Just because my name is associated with someone, people write anything for views."
