Indian batsman Smriti Mandhana has once again proven herself to be the world's best ODI batsman. She has retained her top spot in the batting rankings. England's Nat Sciver-Brunt is in second place, but her points gap with Smriti has increased.
Australian captain Alyssa Healy has moved up to third place thanks to her consistent performances. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur has also improved her ranking. Thanks to her half-century against England, she has jumped three places to 15th. Deepti Sharma has also climbed five places to 20th in the batting rankings.
India and New Zealand are now facing off in the race for the ICC Women's World Cup semi-finals. Both teams have 4 points each from five matches. India's net run rate is +0.526, which is better than New Zealand's -0.245. Despite this, India's path is not easy. India must win both of their remaining matches to secure a spot in the semifinals. Another defeat could knock them out of the tournament. Therefore, the next match will be a do-or-die affair.
