New Delhi: Australia defeated India by 2 wickets in the second ODI to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. With this victory, Australia secured the series. The match was thrilling, with India putting in all their efforts, but ultimately, half-centuries from Cooper Connolly and Matthew Short secured the victory for the hosts.

India's Innings

After winning the toss, Australia decided to bowl first. India posted 264 for 9 in their allotted 50 overs. Captain Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer scored brilliant half-centuries and anchored the innings.
Rohit played responsibly, scoring 68, while Iyer made 63. Sanju Samson (32) and Axar Patel (27) also made useful contributions.

For Australia, Mitchell Starc and Adam Zampa bowled brilliantly. Together, they rattled India's middle order and kept the run rate under control.

Australia's Innings

Australia got off to a poor start in their chase. They lost two wickets for 54 runs. However, Matthew Short (74 runs) and Matt Renshaw (30 runs) steadied the innings and provided stability.

However, India attempted a comeback by dismissing Renshaw and Alex Carey. Harshit Rana bowled brilliantly, dismissing Short, giving India hope. However, Cooper Connolly (61 not out) held one end and brought the team to victory.

Indian Bowlers' Performance

For India, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, and Washington Sundar took two wickets each. Mohammed Siraj and Axar Patel each took one wicket. The bowlers kept the match exciting in the middle overs, but could not stop Australia from reaching the target.
