Tokyo: The javelin throw qualification event for the World Athletics Championships has begun, and Neeraj Chopra has made a great start, qualifying for the main event with his first throw. He secured his place in the World Championships with that impressive performance.

Neeraj Chopra Qualifies

To qualify, Neeraj Chopra needed to throw the javelin at least 84.5 meters, and he achieved that on his very first attempt. Interestingly, he accomplished this feat in the same stadium where he won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

This Happened For The 5th Time

Neeraj Chopra has now made it a habit to secure a spot in the finals with just one throw. Significantly, this is the fifth consecutive global championship where he has qualified on his first attempt. He has also achieved this feat at the 2021 Olympics, 2022 World Championships, 2023 World Championships, and 2024 Olympics, a testament to his consistency and talent on the big stage.

Sachin Yadav Condition

In second attempt, Sachin Yadav once again missed the automatic qualification mark. He completed his qualification round with a final throw of 82.63 meters. His best effort of 83.67 meters kept him in contention for a place in the final. The picture will become clearer once the second group takes the field.

Neeraj Chopra has won the World Athletics Championships title only once. He finished first in 2023, while he came second in 2022. Last month, he failed to win the Diamond League title. Germany's Julian Weber won first place with a best throw of 91.51 meters.
