

After being left out of the Asia Cup 2025 squad, Shreyas Iyer may be lead India-A in the upcoming series against Australia-A. The unofficial Tests begin on September 16 in Lucknow.

Lucknow: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India A team for the upcoming two unofficial Test matches against Australia A, starting September 16. Shreyas Iyer has been named the captain for the series. Both matches will take place in Lucknow.
KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj are also set to feature in the series but will only play the second Test match. They will join the squad for the second game, replacing two players who won’t be available for that match.

The first unofficial Test between India A and Australia A will begin on September 16 in Lucknow, followed by the second match starting on September 23 at the same venue. After the Test series, three unofficial ODI matches are scheduled to be played in Kanpur. However, the squad for the ODI matches has not been announced yet only the red-ball squad has been confirmed so far.
According to reports, Indian senior team captain Rohit Sharma has shown interest in playing the three ODIs against Australia A, which are scheduled between September 30 and October 5. It is speculated that after this tour, he may be asked to decide on his future in ODI cricket. Therefore, Rohit is taking every opportunity to prove his form and commitment, possibly aiming to silence his critics.
