Ahmedabad Tightens Security with Anti-Drone Systems
Ahmedabad: City is fully prepared for the T20 World Cup final between India and New Zealand. Extensive security arrangements have been made for this historic match, which will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, one of the world's largest cricket stadiums. The Ahmedabad police and administration have devised a special strategy to ensure the safety of spectators. Thousands of security personnel and modern technology will be used to prevent any disturbances during the final match.
Ahmedabad Police Commissioner G.S. Malik told the media on Saturday that tight security arrangements will be in place in the city and stadium premises during the match. He said that over 3,000 police personnel and approximately 1,000 Home Guards will be deployed for security duty. In addition, several senior police officers will be deployed in the stadium and surrounding areas to monitor the entire event.
An anti-drone system has also been deployed to further strengthen security. Three anti-drone systems will be active in and around the stadium to immediately intercept any suspicious drone activity. Police say such high-tech security measures are necessary given the major international competition.
Special arrangements have also been made to control the crowd at the stadium entrances. According to the Police Commissioner, a holding area has been created near Gates 1 and 2, facing the main road. This is intended to ensure that a stampede-like situation does not arise if the crowd suddenly increases. Although he noted that such an incident has never occurred here before, this arrangement is being implemented for the first time as an additional precaution.
The police have also prioritized the safety and convenience of female spectators. Female police officers will be deployed inside and outside the stadium. In addition, special security arrangements have been made inside the stadium to prevent spectators from entering the field.
