Colombo: In the 22nd match of the Women's World Cup 2025, South Africa defeated Pakistan by 150 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method. Batting first, South Africa scored 312 for 9 in 40 overs. Due to rain, Pakistan was set a revised target of 234 runs, but in response, they were reduced to 83 for 7. The match could not be resumed due to rain, and South Africa won. Now Pakistan is out of tournament, which ends profitably for India
With this defeat, Pakistan is officially eliminated from the World Cup. India, on the other hand, has directly benefited from this. Pakistan's elimination from the semi-final race has given India the right to host the final and semi-finals.

Although India had the right to host the Women's World Cup 2025, Pakistan's decision not to play in India led to Sri Lanka being made a co-host. All of Pakistan's league matches were played at the R. Premadasa Stadium. Had Pakistan reached the semi-finals or final, those matches would also have been held in Sri Lanka.
From the beginning of the tournament, it was unclear whether the final would be held in India or Sri Lanka. But now that Pakistan has been eliminated from the semi-final race, it has been confirmed that the final will be played in India. Both the semi-finals and final will be played at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
So far, Australia, England, and South Africa have qualified for the semi-finals. India and New Zealand are in the race for fourth place. Both teams have four points each, but India's net run rate (+0.526) is better than New Zealand's (-0.245). The two teams will face each other on October 23rd, deciding their semi-final spot. The winning team will have the best chances.
