Pune: In view of skyrocketing prices of Alphonso mangoes, known worldwide for their special taste, a Pune-based businessman has offered customers a unique facility of easy monthly installments to buy the king of fruits.
Alphonso grown in Deogarh and Ratnagiri of Maharashtra is also known as Hapus mango. Among all the varieties of mango, Alphonso is considered the best. But due to its excellent taste and low production, its prices often remain beyond the reach of common people.
This year also Alphonso mangoes are being sold in the retail market at Rs 800 to Rs 1,300 per dozen. In such a situation, to make the taste of this special mango accessible to the common people, a businessman named Gaurav Sanas has come up with a unique offer. He is now ready to sell Alphonso on easy monthly installment ie EMI like any expensive electronic item.
Gurukrupa Traders and Fruit Products, a fruit trading firm, claim that they are the first establishment in the country to sell mangoes on EMI.
One can buy Alphonso on installments from their shop just like buying a mobile phone on EMI. For this the customer needs to have a credit card and then the purchase price is converted into installments of three, six or 12 months.
However, a minimum purchase of Rs 5,000 is required to buy the Alphonso on EMI.
