Shamli: A 65-year-old woman died due to an explosion in a house allegedly due to explosive material stored there in the Sadar Kotwali area of Shamli on Saturday, police sources said.

Police sources said that the incident took place in Dayanand Nagar locality, where an explosion took place in the house of a person named Prince.

"A woman, Kartari, was killed in the explosion. The senior officers have reached the spot and started investigating the matter," they said.

A police spokesman said that it's a matter of investigation as to which substance led to the explosion. He said that, prima facie, it seemed that some explosive material was stored in the house. (with Agency inputs)
