Apple has slashed the cashback on its new iPhone 17 series, reducing it from ₹6,000 to just ₹1,000. This effectively makes the phone more expensive for buyers without increasing its price. The move comes amid high global demand, supply chain issues, and limited stock availability in India.
iPhone 17 Becomes Costlier: Cashback Cut Sparks Shock
New Delhi: Apple has dealt a significant blow to its customers. The cashback on the iPhone 17 series has been reduced from ₹6,000 to just ₹1,000. This benefit, which was previously available on phone purchases, is now limited.
According to experts, this change has directly impacted the cost of purchasing the iPhone 17. Previously, cashback offered at a lower price, but now, with this reduced benefit, the phone is proving to be more expensive.
iPhone 18 vs Samsung Galaxy S26: Leaks heat up! Who will dominate in 2026?
According to sources, this step was taken due to supply chain issues and limited stock. Due to the strong demand for the base model of the iPhone 17, it remains out of stock most of the time. Due to global supply shortages and limited quantities in India, Apple has implemented a new cashback structure. This change comes into effect today, November 22, 2025. In addition, the zero-cost EMI scheme has also been revised.
Apple's decision is also linked to the global demand-supply imbalance. Thanksgiving sales in the US and the Lunar New Year in China have increased demand for the iPhone 17. Stock is limited in many countries, including India, causing difficulties for buyers.
Stocks of the 256GB and 512GB variants of the iPhone 17 are limited. According to a Delhi retailer, the daily demand for the base model is 10–20 units, but they receive only 6–7 units per week. Stock is also very low on e-commerce platforms like Flipkart and Amazon.
Apple will not launch iPhone next year; Know why
Due to this change, buyers will no longer be able to take full advantage of cashback and EMI options on the iPhone 17. The phone's standard price remains the same, but lower cashback and changes to EMIs have made purchasing more expensive. Experts say that if supply improves, stock may increase in the future and the cashback feature may return.
This move by Apple is surprising to customers. High demand for the iPhone 17 series, global supply issues, and limited stock have forced the company to reduce cashback. Buyers will now face reduced benefits and higher purchase prices when purchasing new iPhones.
