Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda alleges that he was prevented from going to the Sangam bath in his palanquin on Mauni Amavasya. His disciples were also jostled during the protest, leaving him deeply hurt. They have clearly stated that they will neither end the protest nor take the Vasant Panchami bath until the administration publicly apologizes for this behavior.
According to information, the installation of 1.25 lakh Shivlingas is proposed at Lakheshwar Dham in Chhattisgarh. Before this religious event, there were plans to bring these Shivlingas to Prayagraj for public viewing and ritual worship. However, currently, the Shivlingas are kept inside the camp, awaiting worship. It is reported that only a few of the 1.25 lakh Shivlingas have arrived, while the rest are still packed. This has caused resentment among devotees.
To defuse the dispute, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has appealed to all parties to adopt a path of restraint and dialogue. The Sant Samaj has also advised avoiding conflict. Saints Mahant Ramsnehi Das and Mahant Baijnath from Nashik said that such sensitive issues can only be resolved through respectful dialogue and mutual understanding.
Currently, the situation remains sensitive regarding Shankaracharya's health and the protest. The administration, the saint community, and devotees are all hoping that a solution is found through dialogue and the religious atmosphere remains peaceful.
