Maharajganj DM Sets an Inspiring Example: Voters’ problems resolved over phone, BLOs to be rewarded for excellent performance

Maharajganj: District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma has taken a remarkable initiative to address the voters’ issues. In a unique effort to make the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process transparent, he listened to voters' concerns directly over the phone. In an hour from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., the DM received calls from 37 voters from five assembly constituencies in the district and resolved their issues.

Many voters raised concerns related to missing names on the voter list, incorrect names, and the process of filling out the SIR form online. The District Magistrate listened patiently.

Vivek, resident of Paniara, complained about not receiving the enumeration form, prompting the District Magistrate to immediately provide the form. Ram Achal from Farenda asked if a name on the voter list would be incorrect if the same name was written on the enumeration form. The DM clearly stated, "Enter your correct name on the enumeration form."

How to fill out the SIR form online

Some voters asked questions about the online process, to which the District Magistrate explained the entire process and guided them on how to fill out the form correctly.

Directive for Resolution Within 24 Hours

The District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma directed that complaints received during the call be forwarded to the concerned ERO and resolved within 24 hours. He stated that suggestions received from voters will also be included in the SIR process.

Important Instructions for BLOs

The DM stated that the 2003 voter list is available with all BLOs, and voters can obtain copies from them. The list can also be downloaded from the Election Commission's website.

The District Magistrate announced that he will listen to voters' concerns daily on his mobile number 8423675896, starting at 11 am. He said, "My goal is to ensure that no voter faces any difficulty in filling out the SIR form. That's why I am connecting directly with voters."

BLOs Will Also Receive Honors and Rewards

DM Santosh Kumar Sharma stated that BLOs who perform outstandingly will be honored. The top 25 BLOs in the district will be honored, and one will also be named BLO of the Day.
