Kannauj: Students at the National Engineering College in Tirwa, Kannauj, staged a strong protest against the poor quality and smelly food served in the mess. They allege that breakfast, lunch, and dinner are not served on time and the food is of poor quality. Despite repeated complaints, the administration has taken no concrete action.
Students also alleged that instead of taking action against the indecent behavior of the mess staff, the administration pressures students and issues notices. They reported that spoiled vegetables and rotten potatoes tasteless food are served daily.
Students protested with plates in hand against the corrupt and substandard food. They stated that despite the existence of a student committee, the mess is failing to maintain quality.
The college administration maintains that the mess is run under student supervision and regular visits are made to each hostel. They also stated that the number of staff is adequate and all necessary facilities are provided.
This dispute between the students and the administration has now become a topic of discussion on social media also.
