Lucknow: Amid the hide and seek of monsson in Uttar Pradesh, heavy rains followed by strong winds and lightning are expected in 14 districts of western UP and Terai. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain with thunder in the entire state from 28 June to 3 July, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Flood-like conditions have arisen in areas namely Saharanpur, Jhansi. According to the latest update of the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain with thunder is likely in some areas of western UP, Terai and Bundelkhand today on Saturday.

Heavy Rain Alert

Along with this, there is a heavy rain alert in 14 districts like Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Meerut, Moradabad, Rampur, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Jhansi, Mahoba, Lalitpur, Baghpat and Amroha. There is also a danger of lightning in these areas. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain till June 30 in Gorakhpur, Deoria, Ballia, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chandauli, Azamgarh etc. districts of eastern UP.

IMD Prediction

The Meteorological Department says that the monsoon will intensify from July 3, which may cause heavy rain. In the last 48 hours, heavy rains have wreaked havoc in areas like Saharanpur and Jhansi. The Sahasa river in Saharanpur is in spate, causing flood-like conditions. Rain is providing relief from the heat, but the possibility of continuous rain is low.

Pleasant Weather

For now, the weather will be pleasant due to intermittent rain in the state. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the maximum temperature will remain stable in the next 24 hours, but there may be a drop of 2-4 degrees Celsius in 48 hours. There will be no significant change in the minimum temperature. There is a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in 55 districts including Kanpur, Rae Bareli, Agra, Mathura, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Bareilly, Pilibhit.
