New Delhi: The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder has achieved a significant milestone in the Indian automobile market, surpassing the 200,000-unit domestic sales milestone. This mid-size SUV was launched on September 9, 2022, and this milestone has been achieved in approximately three and a half years, or approximately 40 months. Significantly, the Hyryder is Toyota's first mid-size SUV in India, and has gained a strong following among customers since its launch.
Based on the Maruti Grand Vitara, this SUV has sold a total of 203,312 units in India so far. In calendar year 2025 alone, the Hyryder recorded wholesale sales of 85,710 units, a 36 percent increase over the previous year. This places it at 15th place in the list of top-30 utility vehicles of 2025.
While the initial 50,000 units took approximately 15 months to sell, the next 50,000 units were sold in just 11 months. In June 2025, this SUV surpassed the 1.5 lakh sales mark.

The Hyryder popularity can be gauged from the fact that the last 100,000 units were sold in just 15 months. Between October 2024 and December 2025, Toyota Kirloskar Motor supplied 100,786 units to dealers across the country. These figures show that the Hyryder share of the company's total sales is steadily increasing.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder exterior design is striking and premium. Its strong stance distinguishes it on the road. The cabin is comfortable and features several advanced features. The petrol and full hybrid engine options offer a smooth and powerful driving experience. At low speeds, this SUV runs very quietly in battery mode.

The Hyryder offers mileage ranging from 19.2 km/L to 27.97 km/L depending on the powertrain. The Strong Hybrid version offers the highest fuel efficiency, followed by the CNG and petrol models. The on-road price for the base variant in Delhi starts at ₹12.73 lakh, while the top model goes up to ₹22.75 lakh. This SUV is available in a total of 25 variants.
