Bihar SIR phase 1 concludes
Patna: Amidst the ongoing controversy over the special intensive revision of voter list started before the elections in Bihar, the Election Commission today claimed that the first phase of SIR in the state has been completed.
The Commission claimed that during this campaign conducted across the state, 22 lakh voters were found dead. Also, 7 lakh people were found who are voters at more than one place. At the same time, about 35 lakh voters have migrated, while the counting form of about 1.2 lakh voters has not been received.
In such a situation, after the first phase, the names of 65.2 lakh voters can be removed from the voter list of Bihar. Also, the Commission claimed that the list of such voters has been handed over to all the 12 major political parties of the state on July 20 itself.

7.23 crore voters of Bihar participated in SIR process
In a press note issued by the Election Commission today, it was told that 7.23 crore voters in Bihar participated in the SIR process. The Commission said that till now 99.86 percent of Bihar voters have been covered in this process. According to the Commission, out of 7.9 crore voters of Bihar, during the SIR process, 22 lakh voters were found dead, 35 lakh were found who have permanently moved out of Bihar, 7 lakh names were found in two places and 1.2 lakh voters did not even fill the counting form.
Names of 65.2 lakh voters will be out
In such a situation, the names of about 65.2 lakh voters will be out of the draft electoral roll to be published on August 1. However, the Commission has clarified that all such voters who have not been able to fill the form till now have a chance till September 1 to get their name added to the voter list. All such people will have to fill any one of the 11 documents along with Form 6 and submit it to the Election Commission.
The list of names deleted has been handed over to political parties
It has also been told in the press note of the Election Commission that the list of voters who have not filled the form, deceased and permanently migrated has been shared with all the 12 major political parties of the state. According to the Commission, this list has been given to the political parties on July 20 itself. So that any error can be corrected in the draft voter list to be published on August 1.

The Election Commission also informed that till now the forms of 7.23 crore voters of Bihar have been received. All these forms have also been digitized. The work of digitizing the forms of the remaining voters along with the BLO report will be completed by August 1. The Commission also said that from August 1 to September 1, any voter or political party can raise objection regarding the omission of the name of any eligible voter by filling the ERO form.
