New Delhi: Elon Musk has achieved a historic financial milestone after the highly anticipated public listing of SpaceX sent his personal fortune soaring past the trillion-dollar mark. The Tesla and SpaceX chief is now estimated to be worth around $1.3 trillion, making him the first individual in history to reach such a level of wealth.

SpaceX Listing Triggers Massive Wealth Surge

The dramatic increase came after SpaceX made its market debut, significantly boosting the value of Musk’s stake in the company. According to estimates, Musk’s net worth jumped by nearly $164.8 billion in a single trading session, representing one of the largest one-day wealth gains ever recorded.

Before the listing, Musk’s fortune was estimated at approximately $780 billion. The strong market response to SpaceX transformed his financial standing almost overnight, pushing him into a category previously considered unimaginable.

One-Day Gain Bigger Than Many National Economies

What makes the development even more remarkable is the scale of the wealth created in just a few hours. Musk’s single-day gain of $164.8 billion exceeds the annual economic output of several countries around the world.

The figure highlights the extraordinary impact that high-growth technology and space-related businesses can have on personal wealth when investors place a premium on future growth potential.

How It Compares With India’s Economy

The size of Musk’s fortune has also drawn comparisons with national economies. India, currently one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies, has a gross domestic product (GDP) of roughly $4.15 trillion.

At an estimated $1.3 trillion, Musk’s personal wealth now amounts to nearly one-third of India’s annual economic output. Meanwhile, the $164.8 billion added to his fortune in a single day represents around 4% of India’s GDP.

A Historic Moment In Global Wealth Creation

Economists note that personal wealth and national GDP measure different things and are not directly comparable. However, the comparison underscores the unprecedented scale of value generated by the SpaceX listing.

The milestone marks a new chapter in the history of global wealth, with Musk becoming the first person to cross the trillion-dollar threshold and setting a benchmark unlikely to be matched anytime soon.
